Introduction
This five-day, instructor-led workshop provides students with the knowledge and skills to configure and manage a messaging environment to match the technical requirements. The workshop includes a significant amount of procedural knowledge as well as guidelines, best practices and considerations that will help you make implementation and system management decisions. You will cover the procedures required to recover Exchange mailboxes and servers and will learn how to perform full and dial-tone recoveries of a mailbox server as well as repair a mailbox database. Recovery of Client Access servers, Hub transport servers, Unified Messaging servers and Edge-Transport servers are also included. You will learn how to install and configure an Edge Transport Server to manage messaging, connection security, spam, antivirus and content filtering. including how to configure messaging policies. This approach ensures you gain the experience of installing and managing Exchange Server 2007 from a real-world perspective.
Audience
This course is intended for individuals who are or wish to become enterprise-level messaging administrators. Previous experience with Exchange Server 2007 or earlier versions of Exchange is a pre-requisite. Knowledge of network administration is desireable.

Module 3: configuring mailbox server roles 
This module explains that one of the most important components in an Exchange Server 2007 system is the Mailbox server role. This is the most commonly implemented server role in Exchange Server, as it maintains user mailboxes. As an administrator you need to understand what the Mailbox Server does, how it works and how to manage it. This Module introduces the Exchange Management console and Exchange Management Shell Tool sets.

Module 4: managing recipient objects
This module explains that managing recipient objects is a primary and fundamental task. Recipient Objects are Active Directory Objects with Exchange specific attributes defined, including qn e-mail address. This module examines how Exchange Server uses these objects to manage mailboxes, address lists and to forward messages. It also explaines how to configure public folders as recipients.

Module 5: Managing e-mail addresses and address lists
This module describes the configuration of e-mail domains and recipients with e-mail addresses. It also includes how to organise the recipients into address lists and make these available to clients. The use of bulk management methods to quickly make changes to many recipients.

This module explains how Exchange Server 2007 provides access to user mailboxes for many different clients. This module provides details on how to implement the Client Access server role to permit non-MAPI clients to access Exchange Server.

Module 7: managing message transport
This module describes how Exchange Server 2007 uses a new system for transporting messages compared with earlier versions of Exchange Server. The recovery process is significantly more complicated when the entire server is lost. This module will teach you how to prepare for and recover from Mailbox server failure.
